In this tutorial I’m going to show you how to compile and deploy Ethereum based smart contracts and make them available to others. Let’s assume you have already created and tested your own smart contract. To continue from there, we will need the Ethereum wallet Mist to deploy it, it can be found here.

Once Mist is installed on the computer and the node is fully synchronized, a screen like this will be shown, in here we will need to go to the Contracts section.

In the Contracts section, we will click on “Deploy New Contract” option.

Next we will select an account with sufficient funds on it, you don’t need a lot of Ether in your account, usually having one or half an Ether is enough.

Once you have done this, you can add your smart contract code into the Solidity Contract Source Code section, the contract will compile in the background and you will be prompted with a selector to be able to pick your contract

In order to deploy a smart contract you need to pay a certain fee to the miners, the higher the fee the faster your contract will be deployed. Once you have select the fee you are comfortable with, click on Deploy. For creating a contract you basically are generating a transaction, so you will need to confirm the transaction using your password.

It will take a while till the contract is mined and confirmed, but once is done, you will have succeeded on deploying your first smart contract.

IMPORTANT: Never invest money you can’t afford to lose. Always do your own research and due diligence before placing a trade.
